Introduction

Harmony of the Spheres is a science fiction storytelling and worldbuilding project that explores the connection between nature, art, space, and science. Set in a distant planetary system, humanity embarked in an journey of introspection and exploration, to comprehend its origin and place in the cosmos.

Inspired by the optimistic visions of the future of the 70’s and 80’s, the project aims to explore the possible landscapes, technology, societies, art, and way of life of our descendants.

Ma

A type K main sequence star.

Tremola

A tidally locked planet with a low orbital period. Its closeness to the star makes it unsuitable for life.

Lauz

Its surface is mostly water, with most islands located around the equator. Tropical climate, wind, and heavy rain characterizes its climate, along with mediterranean and oceanic on higher latitudes.

Shaped through eons by geological processes, Lauz’s equatorial belt of islands offers the most evocative sights and landscapes of the system. In the same way, the constant scourge of hurricanes and storms has shaped the character of its people, aware of their role in the fragile ecology of the planet.

Dunhar

A heavy metal-dense planet with a thick, dusty atmosphere. Its low temperatures, high speed winds, and high gravity make it a very difficult planet to colonize. However, small settlements do exist.

Pervaded with dust and despair, the cold and toxic atmosphere of Dunhar erodes and destroys any hopes of a comfortable life. Still, its heavy, rich composition makes it one of the largest metal reserves of the system. Only a few colonies have been able to thrive, enduring the test of time in a desolate land.

Basso

A gas giant with enigmatic electromagnetic emissions emanating from its core. Its atmosphere serves as a source of rocket fuel and water. Two icy moons, Euterpe and Terpsicore, orbit this world.

Daxio

A small, cold, binary planet. Hundreds of space habitats orbit it, with many dedicated to scientific and artistic research.

Humanity has transformed a cold and barren binary planet into the core of the greatest engineering endeavor of all time. Daxio is a symbol of progress, and the gravitational anchor of its greatest accomplishment: Hundreds of space habitats home to dense cities and complex biospheres.
